The Publishing Process

I wrote Before THE END of the Movie’s first draft in November of 2022 during National Novel Writing Month. Over the years, many friends and professionals have edited and read the work. I first pitched this and other novels at Jordan Con in April 2024 and then my mom passed away a week later.

I took around a year off of writing and pitching my completed novels to process, grieve and live in the present with my family.

At Jordan Con 2025, I pitched to publishers for a second time and met Tiffany Vega with Outsider Publishing Company. She asked for a few chapters of the novel and then requested a full manuscript. After reading what was then titled Superannuated, she handed it off to her brother Nate Walton who shared her excitement about my story.

Now, the manuscript is headed to an editor in September and available for preorder on October 1st, 2026.

I will be sharing more about my book and the process of writing it in the weeks to come.
